Leadership
David Beam
President & CEO
David Beam has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Insulate America since January 2000, leading the organization with a focus on strategic growth, operational excellence, and industry advancement. With more than 40 years of experience in the insulation and broader construction industries, he brings extensive expertise and a practical understanding of the challenges facing contractors and building professionals.
Before joining Insulate America, David worked as an independent contractor for 17 years, serving clients across five states and building a strong foundation in field operations and business management.
A respected industry leader, David is a former President of the Insulation Contractors Association of America (ICAA) and served eight years on its Board of Directors. He was honored with the association’s prestigious “Key Man Award” in recognition of his leadership and service. He has also served on the RESNET Board of Directors since 2012 and has been a member of its Executive Committee since 2019, including roles as Treasurer and Chair of the Audit Committee.
David remains deeply committed to community service, having served on more than a dozen local boards, including the Cleveland County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Shelby’s Zoning Board of Adjustment, where he has served since 1997. He is a graduate of Furman University.
Amy Goforth
Vice President of Operations
Amy Goforth serves as Vice President of Operations for Insulate America, where she plays a key role in supporting the organization’s members, strengthening operational initiatives, and advancing programs that drive collaboration and growth across the network. With more than 25 years of experience in the insulation industry, Amy brings extensive operational knowledge, industry insight, and a strong commitment to member success.
Throughout her career, Amy has developed a reputation for fostering strong relationships, improving organizational processes, and helping companies navigate an evolving marketplace. Her leadership focuses on creating efficient systems while maintaining a people-first approach that supports both member companies and industry partners.
Amy earned her degree from Appalachian State University and remains actively involved in her community and professional organizations. She currently serves on the Scholarship Committee of Foundation for the Carolinas and is a past board member of Cleveland Country Club. She is also an active member of the Junior Charity League of Shelby, reflecting her ongoing commitment to community service and leadership.
Amy resides in Shelby, North Carolina with her husband and their two children.
Grant Osburn
Chief Financial Officer
Grant Osburn earned a Bachelors in Accounting in 1997 from Bob Jones University in Greenville SC. In his first years, Grant gained experience in various industries by repairing and correcting companies in jeopardy by bringing their accounting systems up to GAAP standards, reorganizing their internal financial practices, and updating their staffing requirements to equip companies for ongoing and future successes.
In August of 2008, Grant found a home serving as controller with the Insulate America Team and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer November of 2011. His love for the hard-working people, individualistic culture, and uniqueness of the insulation industry has grown stronger throughout the last two decades, finding great pride in his part of “Adding comfort to the American Dream”.
Despite stereotypes, Grant maintains his outgoing personality. He values family time and enjoys fishing, playing with his dogs, and watching college basketball.
Sue Hamrick
Administrative Assistant
Sue Hamrick serves as the Administrative Assistant for Insulate America, where she plays a vital role in keeping daily operations running seamlessly. Since joining the organization in 2004, Sue has become an integral part of the team, supporting members, coordinating programs, and ensuring the organization remains organized and efficient.
Sue holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her dedication to service extends beyond the workplace—she is actively involved with Sigma Sorority, North Carolina Retired School Personnel, and Elizabeth Baptist Church.
A resident of Shelby, North Carolina, Sue enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, and spending quality time with her nine grandchildren.
