Green building has been with us for some time.

Earlier green building programs featured “green” products and they involved products like straw bales. In the past decade or so, green building was broadened to include other aspects rather than just building with green products.

Also, building with the environment in mind became a key part of green building programs.

Building science also became involved and the home had to perform better to be green This now requires testing using such tools as blower doors and infrared cameras.
